We present a one-hour program that shares an entertaining combination of music from many decades and genres along with storytelling and reminiscing engagement. In true "drum circle" fashion, we provide manageable percussion instruments that your residents & facility staff may choose to play, thereby creating a "Circle of Harmonic Rhythm" in concert with the musical selections presented. There is singing and often dancing in this joyful experience.
As our sessions progress, we discuss the prolific & historical significance of "Drum Circling". And, we expose and educate our Elders to the types of drums we bring and their origins throughout the world, while providing more in depth instructions on how each may be played.
Within each session, (where appropriate) we'll choose at least one musical selection used for chair, and/or standing calisthenics.
For larger "Facility Staff Team Building & Appreciation-Acknowledgment Events" (that's a mouth full), we bring in an appropriate number of our facilitators to join in the programs.
Our overall purpose is to create an atmosphere of fun and stimulation that our Elders will look forward to time and again. Within each experience, we encourage movement (however subtle). And, we seek to edify, and offer a more buoyant and encouraging Outlook on Life in the midst of their diverse challenges.
